Giorgio Possio, Chairman of Spesso Gaskets since 1999, is now also Vice-President of Piccolindustria, the entrepreneurial association regrouping over 1,500 SME’s in Torino Province.

Further training of Spesso's engineers is planned at Ishikawa's head office, plants and R&D centre in the Tokyo / Utsunomiya areas. More competent resources will strengthen Ishikawa / Spesso co-operation with MLS head gasket customers. Training in Japan involves most of Spesso’s management, including top executives that often take study tours on the Toyota Production System. Spesso’s managers already trained in Japan include the Managing Director, and the R&S/Design, Process Engineering, Production, Marketing & Sales and Quality Assurance managers.NEW CYLINDER HEAD GASKETS FOR FIAT POWERTRAIN TECHNOLOGIES (FPT)
A new multi-layer-steel cylinder head gasket for Fiat Powertrain Technologies (FPT) engines is in production. This gasket has been designed for Cursor 9 family engines by Ishikawa , Spesso's leading Partner for MLS, equips the new 9 lt Iveco heavy duty trucks, so replacing Cursor 8. All cylinder head gaskets for Iveco's 8, 9, 10 and 13 lt engines are presently produced at Spesso's plant in Torino.
INNOVATIVE SEALING TECHNOLOGY

Thanks to an agreement with U.S. based Interface Solutions Inc., a new patented sealing technology named "Select-a-Seal" is now available at Spesso. The technology combines the sealing properties of polymer edges with those of a fibrous structural carrier constituting a completely new sealing concept, the "Rubber Edge Composite" (REC)."Select a Seal" provides the customer, in most applications, with a lower total cost of the assembly, allowing significant savings with respect to alternative solutions. Spesso supplies rubber-coated-metal head gaskets for OE motorcycle applications in Italy and other European Countries. The range of gaskets produced for small engines is now complete, including screen-printed soft gaskets and beaded metal ones.

SCREEN-PRINTED GASKETS

PERFORATED METAL CORE MATERIALS FOR HEAD GASKETS
Spesso is increasing the production of "sandwich" materials for cylinder head and exhaust gaskets. The materials can be supplied in different grades, thicknesses, and roll/plate sizes.

More Spesso engineers have been trained at Interface Solutions' HQs in Lancaster, PA, on Rubber-Edge-Composite (REC) and other fiber-based sealing technologies. As of now, five people at Spesso have been fully trained in the U.S.FOAM GASKETS
Spesso has entered the foam gasket market by fabricating metal reinforced foam materials. A wide range of foam materials from world class suppliers can be converted at Spesso's plant.
